The garden is an enchanted place, it is never the same, it is in continuous evolution. It is made up of space, forms and colours. It doesn’t matter if its large or small, our work lies in managing to create a biological balance between the plants, an architectonic balance between the pathways, the vases, the gazebos or the swimming pool and the person who will live with that garden.

In order to cultivate trees, conifers, and outdoor plants in general, it is necessary to have a good knowledge of their needs as regards soil, light, water and food. These are essential factors that are necessary in order to obtain beautiful, healthy and strong plants but it is also important to know where to locate these plants so that they can grow without loosing any of their characteristics. From cultivation to planning there is only a short step and this was the case after the first few years of activity of our company.

     

Already during the 1930’s we had a design studio which was capable of developing formal and informal plans. Throughout time we followed the trends and tendencies but we also developed a “philosophy” of gardens which has always singled us out and which has rendered each garden that is passionately designed by our company, unique in its genre. From the very beginning of our activity we have always thought it important to give the client all the useful information necessary so that the plants that they purchased would be located in a suitable environment which would allow them, with the appropriate care, to grow and develop rapidly. 

Today, this tradition still continues and it has intensified thanks to a constant growth in requests.

We decided to attach more importance to the look of the gardens by granting the planning office more autonomy and freedom to act, and for this reason, after sixty years of activity we decided to set up the Piante MATI Studio.  PMS can take care of all the aspects of a garden beginning from a on-site inspection, the drawing up of an initial plan and then a complete executive plan, including all of the accessory plants.  In order to simplify the realisation intervention and in order to rationalise the execution times, thus saving the customer a lot of money, we have created an organisation called Gruppo MATI, which is capable of ensuring all the necessary services for the realisation of a garden or a green area.

Garden supplies: do you already have a landscaper’s drawing?  Do you already have an idea of what you want in your garden? Consult us directly or put us in contact with your landscaper.  We will give you a quotation that will take all the functional elements into account with the landscaping ideas of the person who designed your garden. Moreover, you can also refer to our catalogue and price list, which will allow you to quickly come up with a list of plants along with the prices; send us on the list, and soon afterwards you will be sent a list confirmation with the relative supply discount.

We can organise for the delivery of the plants required and a team of gardeners, who will be capable of setting them perfectly and completing the intervention where necessary with the realisation of an irrigation system.  We have many clients and landscapers who request this service from us, both in Italy and in Europe.  This service is offered by the Gruppo MATI.

Special interventions:
we moved five hundred meters of secular oak that weighed 14 tons in order to allow for the widening of a communal road in Siena.  We planted an 8-meter high magnolia on the sixth floor of a building in the centre of Milan.  We built a small garden with exemplary plants measuring 14 meters in height during the month of August in the centre of Milan.  We doctored some depleted secular oak trees; we laid a lawn measuring 5,000 square meters on a beachfront during the month of July. These are just some of the operations that we have successfully carried out.
